At Agape Worship Arts, we believe worship is more than music— it’s a lifestyle of surrender, service, and spiritual leadership.
The Agape Worship Team exists to cultivate young musicians who are not only excellent in skill, but deeply rooted in faith, humility, and the call to lead others into the presence of God.

A discipleship journey— Each member is an enrolled student formed through the Agape Worship Arts Method (AWAM), a holistic system that fuses musical excellence with spiritual depth and servant leadership. Enrolled students are invited to join by demonstrating consistent growth in character, calling, and competency—lives that reflect the heart of worship and the mission of Agape.

For over five years, the Agape Worship Team has ministered in churches across Stockton, Lodi, Tracy, and Manteca—serving as a living testimony to the power of Christ-centered music education throughout the Central Valley. While the team’s lineup has changed over time, each student who joins enters into a discipleship journey rooted in musical training, spiritual formation, and real ministry experience.

One former student even received a full-ride scholarship to Jessup University, directly connected to their development and leadership within the Agape Worship Arts Band—a testament to what God is doing through this program.

Developed under the founder and visionary leadership of Jonathan Michelsen (B.S. Worship Studies, M.A. Music Education, Ph.D. candidate in Christian Worship), this program reflects years of academic training, local church ministry, and a clear calling to raise the next generation of worship leaders.

Each student is trained in their instrument— whether guitar, drums, piano, synth, bass, or voice—but more importantly, they are equipped to walk in unity, character, and the heart of a servant. This program is a cornerstone of what makes Agape unique: we don’t just teach worship, we live it.
